The emotional event unfolded at the Qatari Embassy in Moscow, where the children were handed over to Ukrainian authorities in the presence of Ambassador Ahmed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani and Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.

Speaking to reporters, Lvova-Belova expressed gratitude for the successful reunion, showcasing each child’s diverse backgrounds and individual stories. “Today we handed over 11 children, this is the largest group, and each has its own story,” Lvova-Belova remarked. Significantly, among the children were two with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of ensuring inclusivity and support for vulnerable individuals.

Lvova-Belova also took the opportunity to extend her appreciation to the Qatari Embassy for their crucial role in arranging the reunion process. “I want to express my great gratitude to the Qatari Embassy, to you personally for organizing the process,” she stated, underscoring the collective efforts that made the reunion possible.

In turn, Ambassador Al-Thani emphasized Qatar’s commitment to safeguarding children’s rights and expressed gratitude to the Russian authorities for their assistance.

Furthermore, Al-Thani conveyed appreciation to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for their support and guidance in facilitating the reunion. “We thank Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Our relations are developing productively,” he stated, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between Russia and Qatar.
