Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Zayani, highlighted the nation’s significant advancements in diplomatic cooperation, human rights, tolerance, and social progress.
Al-Zayani pointed to the recent signing of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement between the United States and Bahrain as a milestone. This agreement, inked last week, focuses on enhancing collaboration between the two nations in areas such as defense, security, technology, and investment.
Emphasizing the significance of dialogue and good-neighborly relations in resolving international disputes, Al-Zayani called for a peaceful process that supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He also underscored the importance of finding solutions to conflicts in countries like Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Sudan while preserving their unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Furthermore, Al-Zayani urged the implementation of international conventions aimed at criminalizing religious, sectarian, and racial hate speech. He stressed the need to prevent the misuse of media and digital platforms that promote religious contempt or incite extremism, terrorism, and intolerance, all while respecting the principles of freedom of expression.
