Kazakhstan attracts nearly half a million foreign tourists during summer season: Report

Kazakhstan’s appeal as a tourist destination was evident during the summer season, with approximately 448,000 foreign tourists exploring the country, as reported by the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports based on the eQonaq information system.

Almaty emerged as the top choice among regions for foreign tourists, with nearly 139,000 visitors, followed closely by Astana, which welcomed around 68,000 tourists. The Almaty Region rounded out the top three with nearly 34,000 tourists.

The western regions of Kazakhstan also drew significant international interest, with over 28,000 foreign tourists visiting the Mangystau Region and approximately 25,000 exploring the Atyrau Region.

The Akmola Region received 21,000 foreign tourists, while the Zhambyl, Aktobe, Karagandy, and North Kazakhstan Regions collectively hosted more than 14,000 visitors. The year has seen a 1.8-fold increase in the number of foreign tourists arriving in Kazakhstan.

The ministry’s official representative, Moldir Abdualiyeva, expressed optimism that the country is on track to welcome 1.4 million tourists from abroad by the end of the year. Kazakhstan’s diverse landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality continue to make it an attractive destination for travelers from around the world.
