Major recall: 104,000 vehicles by Renault, Kia, and Jeis Mobility for safety issues

Renault Korea Motors, along with Kia Corp. and domestic electric car manufacturer Jeis Mobility, has initiated a voluntary recall of more than 104,000 vehicles, citing faulty components.

Renault Korea Motors, Kia Corp., and electric car manufacturer Jeis Mobility have jointly decided to recall a substantial number of vehicles—totalling over 104,000 units—citing identified issues with certain components. The voluntary recall, announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, aims to address potential safety concerns associated with the identified faults.

The largest portion of the recall involves Renault’s SM3 model, with more than 83,000 units affected by a faulty component in the anti-lock braking system module. This crucial safety feature is integral to vehicle stability and control during braking, emphasizing the significance of prompt corrective action.

Kia Corp., a major player in the automotive industry, is also part of the recall, impacting over 18,900 units of its Carens compact car. The identified issue with poor fueling valves underscores the commitment of car manufacturers to ensuring the reliability and safety of their vehicles.
