Mayor Libstein was fatally injured while bravely defending a town against a “terrorist attack,” as confirmed by his office. In the wake of his tragic passing, Deputy Mayor Yossi Keren will assume the responsibilities of the mayor’s position.
This development occurred following an incursion by Palestinian gunmen, who crossed the border and launched a substantial volley of rockets originating from the Gaza Strip.
