PM Modi inaugurates 10th vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

Running from January 10 to 12, this year’s summit adopts the theme ‘Gateway to the Future.’ The significance of this edition is underscored by the presence of global leaders, with United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan serving as the chief guest during the opening ceremony.

In a grand inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on Wednesday,10th January marking two decades since the event’s inception. The summit, held in Gandhinagar, is a testament to India’s commitment to global collaboration and economic growth, with participation from 34 partner countries and delegates hailing from over 130 nations.

The Vibrant Gujarat Summit was conceptualized in 2003 under the leadership of then-Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Its inaugural edition, held during the Navratri festival, attracted over 1,000 delegates and dignitaries from 45 countries. Now, two decades later, the event has evolved into a global platform for fostering partnerships and showcasing economic opportunities.

Running from January 10 to 12, this year’s summit adopts the theme ‘Gateway to the Future.’ The significance of this edition is underscored by the presence of global leaders, with United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan serving as the chief guest during the opening ceremony.

The three-day summit is poised to host a multitude of events, including seminars and conferences covering globally relevant topics such as industry 4.0, technology and innovation, sustainable manufacturing, green hydrogen, electric mobility, and renewable energy. The focus on these areas aligns with the global push toward sustainability and the adoption of innovative technologies.

One of the key highlights of the summit is the anticipated signing of numerous projects and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the government and global companies. These agreements aim to propel industrial and technological growth in the state of Gujarat.

This year, the Ministry of Development of the North-Eastern Region plans to leverage the platform to showcase investment prospects in the North-Eastern regions, adding a regional dimension to the summit’s global outlook.

In conjunction with the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the Vibrant Gujarat Trade Show was inaugurated by PM Modi on Tuesday. Spanning two lakh square meters at the Helipad Ground Exhibition Centre, the trade show is dedicated to themes such as ‘Make in Gujarat’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India).

The trade show, operating for two days for business engagement on January 10 and 11, will open to the general public on January 12 and 13. Participating countries, including Australia, Tanzania, UAE, Germany, Japan, and Vietnam, will showcase their industries, contributing to the themes of women empowerment, MSME development, new technology, green and smart infrastructure, and sustainable energy.

Notably, the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a prominent participant in the trade show, emphasizing ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ with a display featuring a modified Su-30 MKI aircraft capable of integrating indigenous air-to-ground BrahMos missiles.

To provide an exclusive experience, all 136 delegates attending the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will be treated to specially curated vegetarian meals for three days. The state government, in collaboration with Leela Hotel, has introduced a ‘Vibrant Bharat Thali’ for exclusive golden cardholders, offering a diverse culinary journey showcasing the Taste of India and the flavours of Gujarat.

As the summit unfolds, the nation eagerly anticipates the outcomes of the signed agreements, the technological innovations showcased, and the potential economic impact on Gujarat and India as a whole. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit stands not only as a testament to India’s economic prowess but also as a bridge connecting the nation to the global economic landscape.
