Quality Council of India & Open Network Launch DigiReady Portal for MSMEs

Empowering MSMEs and small retailers, the Quality Council of India and Open Network for Digital Commerce introduce the DigiReady Certification Portal, facilitating digital readiness.

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector forms the backbone of India’s economy, contributing significantly to employment generation and regional development. Recognizing the pivotal role of digitalization in enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs, the Quality Council of India (QCI) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) have joined forces to introduce the DigiReady Certification (DRC) portal.

The DRC portal emerges as a groundbreaking initiative aimed at assessing and certifying the digital readiness of MSMEs. Through this online self-assessment tool, MSMEs gain the opportunity to evaluate their preparedness for leveraging digital platforms such as the ONDC, thereby expanding their digital footprint and unlocking new growth opportunities.

Crafted with precision, the DRC portal streamlines the process for MSMEs to integrate seamlessly into digital workflows. It evaluates various facets of digital readiness, including the adequacy of documentation for online operations, proficiency in utilizing digital technologies, integration with existing digital workflows, and the efficient management of orders and catalog offerings.

Shri Jaxay Shah, Chairperson of QCI, emphasized the alignment of the DRC initiative with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to promote digital transactions and drive digital adoption in rural areas. He underlined the significance of empowering MSMEs through the DRC portal, highlighting its role in fostering inclusive e-commerce and furthering the objectives of the FIRST initiative.

Mr. T Koshy, Managing Director & CEO of ONDC, echoed the sentiments, stating that the DRC certification has the potential to catalyze a transformative leap for MSMEs. By equipping them with essential digital capabilities, the initiative aims to enable MSMEs to navigate the evolving e-commerce landscape with confidence. Mr. Koshy emphasized that the DRC portal accelerates the integration of MSMEs into the digital network while amplifying their potential to thrive in the digital economy.

The launch of the DRC portal marks a significant milestone in India’s journey towards digital empowerment and inclusive economic growth. It represents a concerted effort by key stakeholders to bridge the digital divide and empower MSMEs to compete on a level playing field in the digital era.

For MSMEs seeking to embark on their digital transformation journey, the DRC portal serves as a valuable resource and guiding light. By leveraging this platform, MSMEs can assess their digital readiness, identify areas for improvement, and access the necessary support and resources to enhance their digital capabilities.

The introduction of the DigiReady Certification portal by QCI and ONDC symbolizes a commitment to fostering digital inclusion and empowerment among MSMEs. It heralds a new era of opportunities for MSMEs to leverage digital technologies and platforms, driving their growth and contributing to India’s vision of becoming a digitally empowered nation.
