Tajikistan aims to generate 1 Million metric tons of green hydrogen by 2040

Tajikistan, known for its abundant hydropower resources, has outlined ambitious plans to produce 1 million metric tons of green hydrogen by 2040. This hydrogen is intended for domestic consumption and export to neighboring Central Asian nations.

Daler Juma, Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, revealed these plans during a visit to Japan, where he is attending an energy transition event. Tajikistan is also targeting the development of 10 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030, a significant step toward reducing its dependence on oil product imports.
