Terrorist attack claims soldier’s life in Poonch; search operation underway

Security personnel conducted a search operation on Sunday morning in response to a terrorist attack on an Indian Air Force convoy the previous day, resulting in the death of one personnel. According to officials cited by ANI, the operation aimed to track down the terrorists, with security forces establishing checkpoints and conducting checks in the area. The attack in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir left one soldier dead and five others injured after the Indian Air Force convoy came under heavy gunfire from terrorists.

According to reports, security forces have cordoned off the area where a terrorist attack took place and launched an operation to hunt down the terrorists involved. Officials have stated that the number of casualties from the attack is likely to increase.

The security forces officials informed that the attack occurred when an Indian Air Force convoy was moving towards Sanai Top in the Surankote area of the district. They added that the vehicles have been secured inside the air base in the general area near Shahsitar.

Security force officials stated that an Indian Air Force vehicle convoy was attacked by terrorists in Poonch district the previous day. They informed that one of the five Indian Air Force soldiers injured in the terrorist attack succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The officials added that one more soldier is in critical condition and receiving treatment, while the remaining three injured personnel are stated to be in stable condition.
